Diabetes mellitus is a disease that affects the metabolism of glucose. As a result, blood sugar levels are constantly elevated. Over time, this strain on the system damages the blood vessels and a number of organs. That is why it is important to detect and treat diabetes in time.
The Diabetes mellitus + programme is suitable for all those who suffer from prediabetes, type 2 and type 1 diabetes, helping to improve metabolism and thereby prevent, overcome or alleviate the symptoms of this disease. On admission you will be examined in detail by a specialist diabetologist, who will explain to you the principle of diagnosis and treatment. After the tests, you will have a follow-up consultation and will be familiarised with the results of your examinations. At the end of the treatment you will receive recommendations for your everyday life and a final certificate with all the results.
What sets this version apart from the basic programme is the depth of the diagnostics: 31 examinations covering microalbuminuria, the liver and lipid profile, kidney function, vitamin D3 and thyroid hormones, plus four ultrasound examinations of the abdomen, thyroid gland, carotid arteries and lower limb vessels – in other words, a direct assessment of the vascular complications of diabetes.
